The largest Amels ever built is set to make history in the yachting industry

The launch of Project Tanzanite, the 120-meter Amels Full Custom, represents a statement of ambition in the world of superyachts. With every line of the exterior design signed by Espen Øino and every handcrafted detail executed by over a thousand Damen Yachting artisans, this project gives new meaning to what a superyacht can offer, combining innovation, elegance, and exclusivity. Beyond its impressive size, Tanzanite’s true significance lies in how it combines cutting-edge technology with traditional craftsmanship, anticipating a standard of luxury that only the most visionary superyachts dare to achieve.

A historic superyacht

Amels Tanzanite

Project Tanzanite arrived in the Netherlands in June 2023, after initially being launched at the Dutch shipyard’s hull-building facility in Galati, Romania. At 120 meters in length and 6,083 gross registered tons (GT), this Amels Full Custom stands out for its unprecedented size and elegance.

The yacht was recently moved into dry dock, and its launch marks a crucial step toward the next phase of construction at Amels’ main facility in Vlissingen. At this stage, more than 1,000 highly skilled craftspeople, both from the Damen Yachting team and its global network of superyacht suppliers, are working intensively to complete the project, which is scheduled for completion in 2026.

Exterior design by Espen Øino

The exterior design of Project Tanzanite was created by renowned designer Espen Øino, known for his ability to blend functionality, luxury, and elegant lines in superyachts. As is customary with Amels Full Custom projects, the yacht’s interiors and final details remain confidential, preserving the exclusivity and mystery that characterizes these elite superyachts.
