Villa Beatrice, a historic clifftop private residence in Portofino, has just reopened after a complete restoration under the unmistakable Belmond seal. Built in 1913 as a summer villa by renowned architect Gino Coppedè, this majestic property begins a new chapter as an exclusive luxury villa on the Italian Riviera.

Located just minutes from the legendary Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, and surrounded by lush gardens that stretch to the Mediterranean Sea, Villa Beatrice represents a perfect synthesis of history, nature, and high-level hospitality.
A unique private residence in the Belmond portfolio

Reimagined by the prestigious Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, this property marks a milestone as the first private villa within the Belmond portfolio. Spread over three floors, Villa Beatrice offers its guests an experience that includes exclusive use, personalized service, and privileged access to nature and Portofino’s architectural heritage.

Its five suites, along with a panoramic terrace for 30 guests, a private pool, direct access to the sea, and the services of a butler, chef, and yoga instructor, recreate the essence of the Italian villeggiatura with a contemporary approach.
A timeless design with an Italian soul

The restoration has preserved and enhanced the villa’s aesthetic richness, characterized by a combination of Art Nouveau, Neo-Gothic, and Neo-Renaissance, reflecting Coppedè’s creative genius. Elements such as ornamental stuccos, artistic wrought iron, marble columns, original frescoes, and the iconic Gothic turret distinguish it from the traditional villas characteristic of the region.

The interior, sensitively reinterpreted by Brudnizki, combines antique pieces selected at auction, local craftsmanship, and custom-made Italian textiles. The use of Palissandro blue marble in the bathrooms, terracotta floors, and Baroque plaster details evokes that air of relaxed sophistication so characteristic of the Mediterranean.

Every detail has been conceived to pay homage to Ligurian heritage. From Albisola Superiore ceramic lamps to Vienna straw-inlaid side tables inspired by the Chiavari chair, everything in this villa tells a story. The color palette—antique greens, terracottas, sandy yellows, and lobster pinks—converses with the surrounding landscape, reinforcing the connection with the surroundings.
A privileged location overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio

Located in Punta Caiega, on the Ligurian coast, Villa Beatrice offers a 360-degree panoramic view that stretches from Cinque Terre to Portofino. The natural setting, with cascading gardens and private access to the sea, allows guests to experience Portofino from an authentic perspective, far from the tourist clichés.

For over a century, this villa has welcomed Italian businessmen, artists, and influential figures, drawn to its intimate atmosphere, distinctive architecture, and harmonious relationship with nature.
An elevated hospitality experience
In addition to its five suites, the property features La Casetta, a charming stone guesthouse complete with a separate pool, a vine-covered pergola, and a sun terrace. All within a gated estate, ensuring absolute privacy.

Nearby, guests can enjoy the Dior Spa at Splendido—the first permanent Dior spa in Italy—as well as exclusive experiences such as:
Private Italian cooking classes
Gelato and cocktail tastings
Art workshops
Private sunset cruises

Villa Beatrice, a dream retreat on the Ligurian Riviera
